The Ian Fleming® Foundation (IFF) was formed as a public benefit nonprofit U.S. 501(c)3 California corporation in July of 1992. The founding members were Dr. Michael L. VanBlaricum, John Cork, and Douglas Redenius. The IFF is dedicated to the study and preservation of the history of Ian Fleming's literary works, the James Bond phenomenon, and their impact on popular culture. One of the IFF's goals is procuring, restoring, preserving, and archiving the original works of Ian Fleming and all of the subsequent products of that original body of work. These include the films, as well as the merchandise and memorabilia spawned by the films.
Over the nearly twenty years of the IFF's existence, we have procured over thirty-five vehicles that have been used in the making of the James Bond films by EON Productions. These unique vehicles have become iconic with that seminal film franchise. The Bond films changed the history of movie making in the last half of the Twentieth Century and continue to do so to this day.
The Foundation's board of directors is currently made up of eight individuals: The Chairman is the former literary agent to Ian Fleming and longtime chairman (retired) of Ian Fleming® Publications Ltd., Mr. Peter Janson-Smith of the UK; the president is founding member Dr. Michael L. VanBlaricum of the USA. The other board members are David Reinhardt of Canada; graphic designer, magazine publisher, and author Dave Worrall of the UK; Brad Frank of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Colin Clark, an American Airlines engineer living in Chicago; George Martin of Houston, Texas; and Matthew Field, a film marketing professional living in London, England.
The Ian Fleming® Foundation provides assistance with research and consults on a variety of issues relating to the history of Ian Fleming and his literary and film creation, James Bond.
The Foundation has status with the United States Internal Revenue Service as a charitable nonprofit organization as provided by tax code 501(c)3.
