Perrin Spychala has had an awareness of James Bond for as long as he can remember, but discovering Steven Jay Rubin’s book, The James Bond Films and Raymond Benson’s James Bond Bedside Companion, got him hooked. The Bond films got him interested in writing and making movies.

In college Perrin wrote and produced a half hour amateur movie that affectionately spoofed the movie series he so enjoyed. 

After a chance introduction to Doug Redenius, an IFF founder, Perrin shared with him his short movie.

Perrin was later invited to Illinois to meet Doug, see his famed Bond collection and climb aboard the Neptune submarine from For Your Eyes Only.

Shortly after that, the IFF acquired the Moonraker boat, which happed to be in his home state of Minnesota.  Perrin met with Doug and his wife Paula when they arrived to pick up the distinctive, modified grey Glastron CV23 HD. Arrangements had already been made for the boat to appear at a boat show, but it needed a quick restoration. 

With years of movie prop replicating experience, Perrin volunteered to help bring the boat back its screen used appearance.

Nearly 30 years, 40 vehicles and dozens of great friendships later, he is still helping the IFF bring battle scarred Bond vehicles back to life, so they be enjoyed by Bond enthusiast everywhere.
